The village of Dhi Ein Heritage is located in the governorate of Al-Makhwa in the Thama sector of the Al-Baha region, and is on top of a white rocky mountain with rugged terrain, while it is surrounded by mountainous highlands from all sides. The village is about 25 km away from the center of Al-Baha city, and is considered one of the most important heritage villages in the Arabian Peninsula. The history of its construction dates back to the tenth century AH, and the village gained its name from an eye that passes through it and pours from the mountains around it. The village includes more than 30 houses and all of them are designed to be contiguous and superinted on top of each other by virtue of the nature of the mountainous village, in addition to containing a small mosque, and the village may look like one castle to those who see it from the outside, and the village was built using a homogeneous type of volcanic stones, while the insides of the buildings used clay and milk, and the village was famous for planting types of fruits and basil in addition to the quality Its handicrafts.
Al-Jawwa village is located south of the center of Al-Baha city and is about 29 km away from it, north of Al-Makhawa and about 14 km away from it. It is one of the villages of the upper Shada Mountains and is located adjacent to the main road. Most of its houses consist of one or two floors and have a tower consisting of several floors and their walls are built using stones stuck on top of each other with high professional experience, and in a technical way that requires. Its shortness was done from the inside with a thick layer of clay and milk and was built using stone according to the shape of its natural section, which is of different sizes and various shapes. It was installed in a high-quality technical manner and in a compact manner that ensures the cohesion of the walls. It is noted that the construction craftsmen have been creative in strengthening the external facades mounted at the level of the natural earth with their difficult slopes, and this was done with a high level of constructional craftsmanship. The roofs were built using tree trunks and above them a layer of tree branches, and above them mud and soft. In a number of houses, a roof was found based on rectangular wooden columns topped by a piece larger area that resembled the crown of the column and was known locally as (al-Muzrah). Al-Mazrah is considered a distinctive architectural element for this architectural style in that area, and the doors and windows of the houses were distinguished by their thickness and were made of thick wood trees. A wooden frame decorated around the architectural openings can be seen. It was also noted that the houses of the neighborhood are monolithed and adjacent, although a number of them are abandoned and destroyed, they create a distinctive architectural fabric as if they are centered on two adjacent hills, a fortified castle that clearly and beautifully expresses the local style in the planning of the heritage village.
