About the Center

The Al-Baha Municipality has established the Municipal Innovation Center to support entrepreneurship related to municipal work, benefiting from modern trends and technologies, and providing the necessary resources. The center will act as an engine for innovation and creativity, encouraging and guiding entrepreneurship across various municipal sectors to contribute to sustainable development and quality of life. It provides a platform for collaboration, research, and development while promoting the culture of innovation. The center will also support the municipality’s strategic goals, urban growth, and competitiveness in the region.

We are committed to supporting entrepreneurs and innovators by guiding their ideas and projects to serve the municipal sector, and helping them access the knowledge and tools needed to turn their ideas into successful initiatives that contribute to the development of Al-Baha’s cities.

Objective

The center aims to promote a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity in municipal work and employ it to achieve various municipal performance targets through the following goals:

Strategic Goals:

1. Promoting a Culture of Innovation: Spreading the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the municipal sector and encouraging individuals and organizations to propose innovative solutions for municipal service challenges.

2. Supporting Entrepreneurs: Providing essential support to entrepreneurs and innovators through training programs, incubators, guidance, and funding opportunities.

3. Developing Innovative Solutions: Creating practical and innovative solutions that improve municipal services, enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase quality of life.

4. Building Strategic Partnerships: Establishing strong partnerships with the private sector, universities, government entities, non-profit organizations, and the community to enhance innovation within the municipal sector.

5. Measuring Impact: Developing a system to measure the social and economic impact of the center’s projects, initiatives, and outcomes and evaluating the achievement of planned objectives.

Target Groups

1. Entrepreneurs and Innovators in the Municipal Sector: Individuals and startups working — or aiming to work — in municipal services, such as waste management, sanitation, landscaping, maintenance, visual pollution treatment, and municipal volunteering.

2. Small and Medium Enterprises: Companies working with the municipal sector that aim to develop new products or services related to municipal work.

3. Community Segments: Individuals and groups interested in contributing to improving municipal services through creative ideas and proposals.

4. Educational Institutions: Universities, schools, and research centers seeking to promote innovation in municipal services through student and research projects.

5. Relevant Government Entities: Government bodies that can benefit from the center’s services or contribute to supporting its activities.

Events and Activities

The First Municipal Innovation Forum and Hackathon in Al-Baha Region:

The Al-Baha Municipality is organizing the “First Municipal Innovation Forum and Entrepreneurship Hackathon” in the Al-Baha region. This strategic initiative aims to enhance municipal development and urban economic growth. The forum and hackathon target entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, students, experts, government entities, and the private sector interested in developing innovative solutions for the proposed challenges. The main themes include innovation in essential services, entrepreneurship, smart cities, and technology. The accompanying hackathon features specific challenges and opportunities for participants to develop practical and implementable solutions. According to the proposed schedule (Appendix B), registration begins on **May 25, 2025** and continues until the announcement of results in **July 2025**. The initiative is expected to produce significant outcomes, including the creation of promising entrepreneurial projects, strengthening partnerships, and presenting innovative solutions that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing the urban economy in Al-Baha — aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
