The Municipality of Al-Baha pays 500 seedlings for the afforestation of Nawan housing
The Secretary of Al-Baha Region, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sawat, launched the Nawan Housing afforestation initiative, which is being implemented by the Municipality of the Region and the municipalities of the Tihami Sector, and the Housing Affairs Branch in Al-Baha Region, in cooperation with a number of agencies, associations and volunteer teams. The Secretary of the region explained that the Nawan housing afforestation initiative is part of the Saudi Green Initiative.
The campaign also aims to increase the green area in the cities and governorates of the region, where more than 500 seedlings have been planted and distributed in Nawan housing. This campaign comes as an interim contribution from the Municipality of the Region, in achieving the objectives of the "Saudi Green" initiative, which was recently announced by His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect him -.
Whereas, the initiative aims to enhance the readiness of the housing infrastructure by working to address environmental degradation and tree loss in some locations and intensifying municipal afforestation works and efforts with trees, shrubs, and local plants associated with the nature of the region, its climate and its agricultural identity, while making use of treated wastewater to irrigate those areas. the trees.
It also aims to involve the local community and volunteers, to plant additional numbers of local trees at the entrances to housing and on the main axes, in addition to intensifying agricultural work in the courtyards and surroundings of residential units and the building of the service office of the municipality of Al-Makhwah. The campaign includes the distribution of free numbers of seedlings to individuals in order to Encouraging home farming, by urging citizens to tree the yards and surroundings of their homes and providing them with suitable seedlings.
The Mayor of Al-Baha region gave thanks and appreciation to the sponsor of the campaign, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, praising the great support that the region’s secretariat and the municipalities associated with it received from His Highness, which contributes to raising the level of development and quality of life in the region and serving the people and visitors to it. He thanked the parties participating in the implementation of the campaign, namely, Al-Baha Al-Khadra Association, the Youth Council of Al-Makhwah Governorate, the Scouts of Al-Baha University, the Absher Volunteer Team, the Al-Bar Charity Association in Nawan, the National Development Association in Nawan, Al-Qamra Al-Souda Studio, the Nawan Volunteer Team, the Al-Baha Infantry and Cyclists Team.
