Al-Baha Municipality Intensifies Readiness to Address Rain and Fog Risks
Al-Baha Municipality and its affiliated municipalities have intensified their efforts under comprehensive plans to address potential risks caused by heavy rainfall and dense fog currently affecting the region, with the aim of enhancing public safety for residents and visitors.
The municipality’s plans cover pre-rain, during rainfall, and post-rain phases, with the deployment of more than 250 pieces of equipment and machinery, including suction trucks, pumps, and heavy equipment. In addition, more than 750 technical and field personnel—including engineers, supervisors, and specialized workers—have been mobilized to handle the impacts of rain and floods. Over 100 high-risk critical locations have been identified in coordination with municipalities, and 302 smart sensors have been installed to monitor water levels and flow speed in drainage systems and channels. These measures aim to enhance public safety, ensure the smooth delivery of municipal services, and reduce damage caused by rainfall events.
Field teams have been strategically deployed, with 39 support locations designated to enhance road readiness. Efforts also include cleaning drainage networks, removing obstacles from water channels, and activating public awareness through messages, guidelines, and weather updates shared عبر official social media accounts.
The municipality continues to monitor weather conditions, implement preventive measures, and receive reports and emergency calls through the unified call center (940) around the clock.
Al-Baha Municipality urged everyone to cooperate with field teams and adhere to safety instructions during rainfall to ensure the safety of lives and property.
