Brief
The village of Husoon Bakhrosh is located north of Al-Atawlah, approximately 5 kilometers away, and about 37 kilometers from the city center of Al-Baha. It includes the fortresses of the military leader Bakhrosh bin Al-Allas Al-Zahrani and is situated in Al-Hassan village, which belongs to the Quraysh tribe in Al-Qura Governorate.
The village houses are spread across the slopes of two opposing hills, separated by a modern road that cuts through them. It is likely that these hills once formed a continuous urban extension. A number of modern buildings can be observed within the heritage cluster of the village; nevertheless, the village maintains a calm and beautiful appearance, harmoniously blending with the gently sloping natural terrain.
The old heritage cluster in the village includes a group of adjacent residential buildings consisting of one or two floors. These buildings are partially collapsed and abandoned. Clearly visible among them are cylindrical towers that represent parts of the fortress. Bakhrosh Fort is considered the most important structure within this heritage cluster, distinguished by its large area and circular towers, although it is also partially ruined.
The construction was carried out using tightly stacked volcanic stones of varying sizes, shapes, and colors. These stones were assembled in an artistic manner requiring high professional expertise. The interiors were plastered with a thick layer of clay and mud bricks. The roofs were constructed using tree trunks and square-cut wooden beams, covered with layers of tree branches, and finally finished with clay and mud bricks.
